Kashi’s national sponsorship with the Wanderlust Festival provided provided authentic, direct touch with consumers at events and amplification provided extension of messages and experiences to relate to consumers across digital touch-points. The task was to create an activation that featured Kashi products in a fun and engaging manner and provided a sharable take way with minimal disruption of the experience. To complicate issues, not all event locations were wifi enable, so we had to devise an suitable offline variant. The solution we came up with was to combine a hacked GoPro camera with custom built Raspberry PI board, that communicated to a series of iPads manned by brand ambassadors. When users interacted with the “Drum Circle” a remote video was take which was then converted by the Pi into an animated GIF. The gif was then sent to each of the iPads operating within the installation, and users were prompted to fill in email address. The offline system then automatically synced and sent the converted GIF images to each participant when WIFI or cell data became available. The project necessitated the creation of hardware, iOS software and cloud software for the full solution.
